Columbus Pool Management was founded by The Pool Management Group executive leadership team in 1998.
FRED INTER, PhD
President and General Manager
Fred joined The Pool Management Group family in 2014 as President and General Manager of Columbus Pool Management. After having spent 25 years in the waterpark industry and around pool facilities, Fred’s expertise and passion for aquatics is a tremendous value to his customers. Fred began his career at Geauga Lake Amusement Park in Aurora, OH where he worked during the summers throughout his undergraduate degree at Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia.
After college, Fred joined Walt Disney World Resorts as the Recreation Coordinator at Disney’s River Country in Orlando, FL. He held positions ranging from Direcotr of Operations to General Manager for a number of well-known properties that include Raging Waters (Salt Lake City, UT), Kalahari Resorts (Wisconsin Dells, WI and Sandusky, OH), Wild Water Adventure (Clovis, CA), Castaway Cover (Wichita Falls, TX) and Chula Vista Resort (Wisconsin Dells, WI).
During his professional career, Fred also earned a Master’s Degree in Commercial Recreation and Business along with a Doctorate in Recreational and Tourism with an emphasis in Urban Planning.
Originally from western Pennsylvania, Fred spent many years in Ohio where he got started in aquatics and is excited to be servicing the Columbus, Ohio area.
Shaun joined the Columbus Pool Management Team in February of 2015. Shaun started his career as a lifeguard in 2004 at Great Wolf Lodge, Sandusky, Ohio, where he gained valuable experience in front line lifeguard operations. From his experience with Great Wolf Lodge Shaun moved into a lifeguard role with Kalahari Resorts, in Sandusky, Ohio, and quickly worked his way up to the Assistant Aquatic Director’s role in less than a year. He then was promoted to the Aquatic Directors role, plus opening phase II operations with the company.
Shaun left Kalahari Resorts to pursue other opportunities in the aquatic industry. He had developed interests in lifeguard development, as well as in the service side of aquatics. Over the next eight years, Shaun worked with reputable waterpark facilities, honing in his training, operating and maintenance talents.
Shaun returns to Ohio as a very respected individual in the aquatics industry. He has trained over 1,000 lifeguards, obtained multiple lifeguarding instructor trainer certifications, and is proficient in state codes and regulations.
John joined Columbus Pool Management in March of 2012, and has worked for the company for 3 years. John has worked in a variety of roles within the maintenance industry. His first exposure to the world of maintenance was as an aviation and Airline mechanic where he gained seventeen years of experience. Some of the companies he worked for were Southern West Transport, American West Transport, Ohio State, and Clydesdale Aircraft Corporation.
John left the airline industry in 2003 and joined the amusement industry. John has worked as a Team Mechanic for Wyandot Lake Park, Zambezi Bay as a mechanic, and the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium as an Attraction Maintenance Supervisor.
John has an Associate’s Degree from Columbus State in Applied Science, is a FAA certified Aircraft Mechanic, and is a Certified Pool Operator.
